Share Files Between Two Computers Using a LAN Cables

LAN cables are a twisted pair of unshielded cables that are used for various computer purposes. One of their functions includes copying files from one computer to another. These cables can also be used to connect laptops to each other. LAN cables look like Ethernet cables, thus one should be very careful before buying them. There are various types of LAN Cables that are identified with category rating. It depends on the features of the system, on which category cable will be best suited for your computer. Using a LAN cable for transferring files is the most easy and speedy process.
  1. Buy a LAN cable that is sufficiently long and of a category rating that suits your PC. 
  2. Plug the two sides of the cable on both the computers.
  3. Switch on the computers and wait till the system loads.
  4. Click on the start menu of one of the computers and go to the control panel.
  5. Open the “Network and Internet" folder and then the "Network and Sharing Center” option.
  6. Double-click the "Unidentified Network" icon in the upper port of the new window that emerges.
  7. Ensure that the "Network Discovery" and "File Sharing" options are switched on by opening the "Network" tab. 
  8. If the option "Network discovery and file sharing are turned off. Network computers and devices are not visible. Click to change..." appears, then “Turn on Network Discovery and File Sharing" button. Now click the "No, make the network that I am connected to a private network" key to enable file sharing. 
  9. Finally double-click the network icon for the other computer to contact and share files between the two computers.
